Join us at the house of a committee member in Moseley/Balsall Heath border as we get together to watch and discuss the livestream of Humanists UK’s 2024 Holyoake lecture, which will be broadcast online from Manchester.
The annual Holyoake Lecture explores an aspect of politics or contemporary social or political issues, especially as it relates to secularist and humanist issues, including liberalism, democracy, social justice, feminism, anti-racism, LGBT rights, or equality. This year’s topic will be exploring the rise of the so called ‘culture wars’ and how this has impacted contemporary society.
This year’s lecturer, Sir John Curtice is Professor of Politics at Strathclyde University in Glasgow and a Senior Research Fellow for the National Centre for Social Research. He has written extensively about voting behaviour in elections and referendums in the UK, as well as on British political and social attitudes more generally.
Please RSVP by filling in the form below if you plan to attend, as the address will be emailed only to those who reply.
