Why not come along (with your picnic) and join us in Handsworth Park for a sociable get together... hopefully with lovely weather! This is a joint event with Asian Rationalist Society (Britain).
All are welcome!
Following the picnic there is plenty of options to explore what the park has to offer. Once a gem of Victorian Birmingham, a recent restoration has ensured the park remains a focal point for leisure, recreation and major community events in the heart of the city.
It was first opened in 1888 by the Handsworth Local Sanitary Board and by 2006 the park was significantly restored. It has retaining much of its original character.
It now covers over 63 acres of landscaped grass slopes, with flower beds, mature trees, shrubs and plenty of wildlife - a lovely place to visit with family or friends. There is also a bandstand, an art trail and a children’s play area. Alas, there are no toilets!
Parking is available at The Handsworth Wellbeing Centre off Holly Road.
If you want to attend, please fill in the form below, so we can get an idea of numbers. We’ll send you details of when and where to meet nearer the time. Preferably sign up at least 24 hours before the event so that you’re included when we send out details to everyone on email.
Look forward to seeing everyone there!
