This is a follow-up to the discussion meeting we held in July. There were lots of topics that we didn’t have time to cover then. Committee members Tony and Davey will lead a second discussion on ways in which enlightenment ideas might influence society over the next few decades. This time we’ll focus on how a fairer, more equitable society might be achieved. Strong rights frameworks exist in large parts of the world, yet discrimination, inequality of opportunity and unequal treatment have proven difficult to eradicate in practice. What further developments would we like to see in rights themselves? How might obstacles to greater fairness be overcome? Are there already great ideas around that could increase the momentum towards greater equity?
This is for everyone – you don’t need to have been there at the July meeting! Come along to hear other people’s views and have your say
