At our meeting on 12 December, Terri O’Sullivan, from the organisation Faith to Faithless, will be speaking about the difficulties facing people who have left, or are seeking to leave, a high-control religion, and about what we can do to help support them. Apostates may feel really isolated, having lost their previous network of family and friends, and may fear for their own safety, so it’s important to be aware of the situation they may find themselves in, and to find out about appropriate ways of helping them.
