Investigating Secularism & Disbelief in Contemporary Britain

  • Moseley Exchange 149–153 Alcester Road, Moseley Birmingham United Kingdom (map)

We warmly invite you to join us at the Moseley Exchange this April, for a illustrating talk by Jeremy Rodell - investigating the evidence behind the trends towards increasing secularism & disbelief in contemporary Britain and the rationale behind this shift in attitudes.

It is has been well reported we are moving towards a more secular society but what does this actually look like across the UK? Throughout the evening we will explore some key questions such as:

  • What can the ONS data tell us about the changing religious attitudes in Britain?

  • How could this change shape our communities, future policies, and interfaith dialogue?

  • How has this cultural shift impacted different demographics in society.

  • What role do humanists play in this evolving landscape?

There will be time for questions following the talk, do come along for what should be a fascinating and informative evening.

Jeremy Rodell is a volunteer officer who leads Humanists UK’s dialogue network, which brings people from different humanist and religious communities together in search of common ground. This work builds bridges, develops mutual understanding, and promotes tolerance and good relationships in our communities. Learn more about his role here.

Refreshments will be available throughout and the opportunity to socialise will be possible before and after the talk.
